Just wondering if any of you girls believe in whering panty liners when your not on your period. Scented, non scented..lol thaught of this when reading the menstral cup topic for some reason. Oh and I think this is wrong, but some people don't even where underwhere most of the time, let's be honest do you where them and if so do you use liners?

Post 2 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 16:15:31

I do not wear them.

Post 3 by Dubstep1984 (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 16:32:55

i used to wear liners on a daily basis., but lets face it, it gets costly buying them all the time.

Post 4 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 16:34:54

What are they for? I've actually seen them advertized on tv but have no idea.

Post 7 by Damia (I'm oppinionated deal with it.) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 18:05:42

Ug no thank you. I'me one of the girls who hates wearing underware but there is reason for that, but I hate how they always seem to bunch up and crumple and it makes me feel like there is something in my underware that shouldn't be there.

Post 8 by lights_rage (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 18:37:42

i think panty liners are pethetic, did it for a while and well yeah, and as for not wearing underware oh my i have to always wear underware always can live without a bra but not underware

Post 9 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 16-Mar-2008 2:14:59

I use them. I don't know ... I just always feel better knowing something's there just in case. And they come in handy when my period's a nasty surprise, since even after almost two years of having it, I'm not completely regular. Not fair, I know, but c'est la vie, I suppose.

Post 10 by EbonyMoon187 (Generic Zoner) on Sunday, 16-Mar-2008 4:57:32

Well, i see the point of wairing them, but, some girls don't i guess. Though, i have no idea how you could ever go with undies far out no. lol No matter how tiny they are, i always have to wair them, same with a bra.

Post 11 by OrangeDolphinSpirit (Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how popular it remains?) on Sunday, 16-Mar-2008 7:05:29

Don't use them. I have a friend who does, and thought she was weird for using them. My periods are always light, though, so I never had a problem.

Post 12 by Dubstep1984 (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 16-Mar-2008 12:40:42

i do not use them anymore because i would always break out from them. probably from all of the crap added to them during the manufacturing process.

Post 13 by EbonyMoon187 (Generic Zoner) on Sunday, 16-Mar-2008 17:19:10

Yeh, i've herd alot of girls have that kinda problem, i mean, i used them sometimes when i was in school, but, never again.

Post 14 by Dubstep1984 (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 16-Mar-2008 22:48:59

yep same here. no way! i hate breaking out from them.

Post 15 by EbonyMoon187 (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 17-Mar-2008 4:25:25

and, lets face it, it's only a bit of dis charge and, it's usually clear, so, no one is going to see it. And, if your on the pill, you don't need to stress, coz, you no when there coming anyway. I just think there a waste of money.

Post 16 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Monday, 17-Mar-2008 11:03:35

Ew'w'w no! I always use panty liners or tena ladies. You see, as well as the discharge and periods, I also have stress incontinence, so I wear underwear all the time as well. I couldn't imagine doing anything else, lmfao.

As a pain sufferer iw shy I choose not to sometimes. To women who wuffer pain of the vulvar area it is suggested if you do wear underware cotton is the best to wear prefferabally boy shorts, and if you can get away with it none at all. Also not tight pants, and when washed put through a gental detergant and not put in with dryer sheets. I've also found this in an article about general vulvar care. That's my two scents about why i'm ok with no panties. Oviously if I'll be going somewhere where I know I'll be sweating allot or I know it's a time of the month where my discharge is heavy I ware them, but other than that.... the feeling of freedom is nice anyway.

Post 18 by cattleya (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Wednesday, 19-Mar-2008 4:01:28

Most of the time I don't wear underwear at all. When I do it's to help with wearing panty liners or pads...Haven't baughten a cup yet. I don't wear them because the more often I wear them the more often I get yeast infections. At one point I'd just get over an infection and be back into the doc's getting more meds cause I had another one...So, instead I simply don't wear underwear and I'm able to dry without the underwear holding moisture next to my skin. I also wear loose pants/shorts so its not like anything is soking into my clothes; or no more than it would be for any other woman who chooses not to wear underwear. And now I typically only get the infections when on antibiotics...Been like 6 months!!! Also, thanks for the idea about panty liners around period time...I would rather wear a panty liner as opposed to a pad considering my period is still fairly irregular; though it seems to be evening out...Until it does I've got to figure out a backup plan so I don't have a repeat of Monday!!! Now, that could have been embarrassing!!! Also, $1.00 for 28 panty liners at Wal-Mart...I get the Equate brand for now because they have the cotton like cover, are unscented and a reasonable price!

Post 19 by Dubstep1984 (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 20-Mar-2008 18:27:49

i would like to give a suggestion about the yeast infections. i was told this by a doctor. i went in for repeated really bad yeast infections that were not cured by the meds, or if they were cured, they would come back a few days later. what you need to do is get a probiotic called acidophalis, please excuse the spelling. it really works. u take 1 or 2 tablets a day even when the infection is gone. so ever since then, i have been yeast infection and urinary tract infection free. it has been a bit over a year now. i took the acidophalis for about a month and never had any more problems.

And an herb called Vitex will regulate cycles. You shouldn't have to take it forever, it usually works in 3-6 months. (I posted this elsewhere, but it's clearly more on topic in this thread. LOL)

Post 21 by Dubstep1984 (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 21-Mar-2008 19:13:10

ooooh sweet! vitex is it's name?

Post 22 by blw1978 (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Tuesday, 01-Apr-2008 1:24:51

Wow! Interesting topic girls! Well to answer the liner question, I agree they're good to use just before your period and also when it's tapering off. I also wear them at night. I wouldn't wear them everyday, but they do help prevent yucky leaks on your clothes. I've only had a couple of these. They're also good when you're traveling long distances, cause you can change them, and feel a bit more clean. Just my oppinion though, I know everyone's different.

Post 23 by rdfreak (THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE-BLUE KANGA-KICKIN AUSIE) on Tuesday, 01-Apr-2008 2:49:31

I wear them just before, and at the end of a period. also, sometimes during the ovulation period, we seem to get bad discharge, so I may wear them occasionally then.

Post 24 by sea star (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 03-Apr-2008 21:34:31

i don't see the point in pantty liners because i have light periods anyway. and they're costly.

Post 25 by cattleya (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Friday, 04-Apr-2008 17:54:54

Costly? Out of curiosity, what do you use? I buy the cheapest pads and panty liners that Wal-Mart offers and that I can use; happens to actually be damn near the cheapest if not the cheapest, and I'll pay any day $2.00 for 48 as opposed to $3.50 for 24...Average prices, not exacts, but damn close.

Post 26 by SunshineAndRain (I'm happily married, a mom of two and a fulltime college student.) on Wednesday, 23-Apr-2008 3:32:52

Underwear, no liners unless my period's beginning or ending.

Post 27 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Thursday, 19-Jun-2008 19:49:50

I wear liners every day, but not scented ones, I don't want to smell like baby powder down there, thanks. But they do help me feel clean. I can't stand the way my underwear feel when I don't wear them, but that's probably because I'm used to them. And anyways, some girls have more discharge than others, so some of us need to wear them.

Post 28 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Friday, 20-Jun-2008 1:01:58

I do wear underwear but I do not wear panty liners. I personally think they feel a little weird and uncomfortable and I much rather pprefer wearing my tampons. Just my two-sense.

Post 29 by Nicky (And I aprove this message.) on Wednesday, 10-Sep-2008 23:23:31

I use the liners while on my time but I also use tampons.I use both so I don't get a stain if for some reason i leak. Mainly use the liner if I am going out.

Post 30 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 11-Sep-2008 10:47:54

Well, in spite of the fact that my grandma insists on me wearing them, I dont like them. so i try not to buy them if I can help it!

Post 31 by changedheart421 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 11-Sep-2008 17:41:18

hate wearing underware so no liners for me.

Post 32 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 15-Jan-2009 12:57:31

I have an irregular period and even then, I hate when discharge gets on my underwear, so I used to use thin pads. Recently though, I finally did buy some liners, but they don't help much because even though I put them on correctly, the discharge still gets on the underwear. So, instead, I use a thickly folded up paper towel (like the ones you would find in a restoraunt/store restroom. Not only does that save me spending money on pads only used to catch the discharge, but They work a lot better for me and unlike what I'd first thought, they do stay in place even while I'm moving around.

Post 33 by Skyla (move over school!) on Thursday, 15-Jan-2009 20:09:02

No pantie liners for me, ever.
But scented ones? are you serious? My vagina smells absolutely perfect the way it is, and I'd like to keep it that way. Also, scented pantie liners, vaginal douches, and scented pads/tampons are definitely harmful, especially in such a sensitive area of your body.

Post 34 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Friday, 16-Jan-2009 23:24:24

Why would someone not wear underwear? I mean, barring alergies and naturists... I use a Mooncup UK (best one ever) and don't wear panty liners at all. But for those who want to and who want to not have to deal with chemicals, there are cloth ones as well as organic disposables available.

Post 35 by Skyla (move over school!) on Thursday, 22-Jan-2009 23:20:26

I just can't get my head around scented ones!! believe me ladies, your vagina smells exactly as it should: just like a vagina. And yes, menstrual cups are wonderful.

Post 36 by Damia (I'm oppinionated deal with it.) on Thursday, 22-Jan-2009 23:31:52

I don't ware underware offten because it is suggested to girls with vvs not to in order to let the vagina breathe and not be too close to anything. I have mostly continued the use of underware since i've stopped wearing Genes. The pain is still there but it's not as bad.

Post 37 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 31-Mar-2009 0:09:17

I used to whear liners every day, but i notice that after whearing them every day, i sometimes get irritated. in fact if you whear liners, you are not letting such a sensitive part of your body breath which can cause infections. in that note, i whear them occasionally. especially if my period tapers off which used to occure between the forth and fifth day, but now i where it with no problems on the third day of my period. and nothing the next day. so my periods has lessened from when it used to be 5 days to now 2 or 3 days.
thanks.
also, after taking priscription migrain meds, i haven't had any cramps nr other discomfort except abdominal tention
.

i wish i wasn't so freeking irregular. i get my period every 2 months like for example, on december i got it and now it february i haven't had a period. why is this?

Post 39 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Wednesday, 10-Feb-2010 7:44:01

Hmm. You might want to get that checked out. That's not normal. Sometimes, that will happen if you're overly stressed, however, but still...
